Which one suits my pet?
Four questions, 30 seconds, and we narrow it to a main recommendation and a suggested pairing. No product names to remember.
Do you have a dog or a cat?
How old is your pet?
Age decides which product line to use - the puppy, adult and senior formulas differ.
What breed is your pet?
Choose the closest match. If your pet is a Tong gau, a mixed breed, or you are unsure, enter their weight in the next step.
What would you most like to help with right now?
Pick up to 2. The first is the main choice, the second is the companion.
The above is an everyday care match based on what you selected, not a clinical assessment. Supplements are not medication; if your pet has symptoms, is on medication or is pregnant, ask your vet first. Follow the feeding instructions on the product label.
Why choose by breed, age and need?
There are over forty products in the Zesty Paws range, and more is not better. For the same need, puppies, adults and senior dogs use three different lines; small dogs have mini-chew versions; large breeds and long-bodied breeds (Corgis, Dachshunds) should start joint care earlier; and light-coloured long-haired breeds (Poodles, Bichons) most commonly get tear stains. What this guide does is match those conditions to the official formulas: settle on one main need, then add the combination the brand itself suggests - two full-size products get 10% off automatically.

Care priorities for common breeds
- Tong gau (local village dog): sizes vary a lot, so go by weight for the amount; no particular breed tendencies, so starting from everyday all-round nutrition is the steadiest base.
- Shiba Inu, West Highland White Terrier, French Bulldog, Schnauzer, Shar Pei: more sensitive skin, and itching is pronounced as the seasons turn → the Skin Sensitivity range plus fish oil.
- Corgi, Dachshund: long body, short legs - watch the joints and weight early → the Hip & Joint Mobility range.
- Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Bernese Mountain Dog: large breeds carry a heavy joint load, so daily care can start in adulthood → the Hip & Joint Mobility range; some large breeds also start watching Heart care.
- Poodle, Bichon Frise, Maltese, Shih Tzu: tear stains show on light face fur, and small mouths build tartar quickly → Tear Stain Bites, Dental Sticks.
- Husky, Samoyed, Akita, Alaskan Malamute: a thick double coat, so moulting season and coat shine come down to Omega-3 → the Skin & Coat range.
- Long-haired cats (Persian, Ragdoll, Maine Coon): they groom a lot, so hairballs are an everyday matter → Cat Hairball Bites.
Frequently asked questions
What age can they start on supplements?
Puppies can have the puppy-specific formula from 8 weeks; the adult line generally from 1 year; and the Senior Advanced line from 7. Check the minimum age on the label of each cat product.
Can two be given at the same time?
Yes - the brand has its own Smart Combos suggestions, such as Aller-Immune with a probiotic, or the 8-in-1 with the joint formula. Two products with the same function (the standard and senior versions, say) are an either/or - do not stack them.
How many chews a day?
Standard chews go by weight: 1 a day under 11 kg, 2 a day for 11 to 34 kg, 3 a day over 34 kg; a 90-chew jar lasts a small dog about 3 months. For mini chews and powders, go by the pack label.
How long before I see a difference?
Supplements are not medication; we suggest a continuous 4 to 6 weeks alongside a balanced diet and day-to-day observation, and 6 to 8 weeks for coat formulas. If your pet has symptoms, is on medication or is pregnant, ask your vet first.
